For our 2009 New Deal Supper Club finale we've decided to cross the river into Manhattan and introduce you to the new Green Spaces location. This month's non-profit sponsor is one of our personal favorite organizations, the Armenia Tree Project [ATP]. In its young 15 years, ATP has managed to reforest a nation, create an economy and environmental education programs, build schools and roads. We're excited for you to learn more about how a few people managed to make a huge impact.

As always, we continue to team up with our fellow entrepreneurs and this month we want to say thanks to 44 North Vodka for the endless cocktails and our new friends Wrecords by Monkey who have generously offered to provide us with a gift for you. Thank You for your continued support.

ABOUT ARMENIA TREE PROJECT
Armenia Tree Project (ATP) has made strides in combating desertification in the poverty stricken and biologically diverse but threatened Caucasus region. ATP’s goal is to assist the Armenian people by using trees to improve their standard of living and protect the global environment. They are guided by the need to promote self-sufficiency, aid those with the fewest resources first, and conserve the indigenous ecosystem. Over 2,500,000 trees have been planted and restored, and hundreds of jobs have been created for Armenians in seasonal tree-related programs. Recently ATP has attracted the attention of environmental groups across the globe because of its work in transforming an entire country and is now an authority on reforestation while building a new economy, literally from the ground up and incorporating environmental education into its programming. ATP is an excellent model for the greening of small cities to entire nations. More information will be available at the New Deal. Read more about the Armenia Tree Project here.

ABOUT NUCOMME

Corpus Christi born vocalist and musician, Nucomme Davis-Walker truly knows how to captivate an audience; she busked not only on the platforms of New York City’s subway platforms but in train cars. New York’s notoriously tough subway audience’s hearts were warmed by Nucomme’s voice; smooth, husky and guided by jazzy-blues rhythms. She credits her original song, Change with taking her to a new level or expression and evolution, by teaching her how to “transform with the music and the moment.” More about Nucomme.

Her latest album is called Hologram. Listen.
